Delete Your Account
How to permanently delete your Penny Planter account and everything stored in it.
The short version
- You can delete your account yourself from the mobile app, in Settings → Delete Account.
- If you signed up on the website, email us from your account address and we will delete it for you.
- Deleting removes your properties, snapshots, annual reviews, net worth history and every file in your Document Vault.
- It cannot be undone, so export your report and download your documents first.
This summary is here so the page is readable. The full detail is in the sections below.
01 What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your user record, name and email address;
- every property you added, and all of its details;
- every saved snapshot and the history behind your year-to-year comparisons;
- every Annual Review checkpoint and the notes on it;
- your entire net worth history;
- every file in your Document Vault, and the folder it was stored in;
- your activity log; and
- any app sign-in sessions, which stop working immediately.
This cannot be undone. Nothing is recoverable afterwards, so generate your PDF report and download anything you want from the Document Vault before you start.
02 Deleting from the mobile app
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Settings — the tab at the bottom right.
- Scroll to Delete Account.
- Tap Delete My Account, enter your password to confirm it is you, then tap Permanently Delete Account.
The account and all of the data listed above are deleted straight away, and you are signed out on every device.
03 Deleting a website account
Email info@thepennyplanter.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm the request is genuinely from you, delete the account, and email you when it is done — normally within a few business days and always within 30 days.
If you no longer have access to that email address, write to us at the postal address below with enough detail for us to identify the account.
04 What we may still hold afterwards
Routine encrypted backups may contain a copy of your data for a short period — normally no more than 30 days — after which they are overwritten on their ordinary cycle. We may also keep a minimal record where the law requires it, for example to meet a tax or accounting obligation or to resolve a dispute. Nothing retained in that way is used to rebuild your account or for any other purpose.
Everything else about how we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.
05 If you only want to delete some of it
You do not have to delete the whole account to clear something out. Individual documents can be deleted from the Document Vault, individual properties from My Home, and individual entries from the Net Worth Tracker — all without affecting the rest of your account.
